Showcasing sustainable living in the mountain range of the Serra do Caldeirão of Tavira

Why it Matters

Rich Heritage.

Quinta Rosa de Victoria is a farm in a rural enclave of the Serra do Caldeirão of Algarve that partners with local farmers and residents to bring authentic cultural and farming traditions to tourists. We share our love for this land in the hopes that it will help preserve , contribute to and protect these local traditions and customs. Come and get to know a different side of Portugal!

Sustainable Tourism.

As farm owners in Feiteira, we have the immense privilege of living in harmony with nature. We also get to witness our amazing local community living in sustainable ways that we believe we can all benefit from learning about. We are proposing a way to showcase this mesmerizing rural area and it’s culturally rich practices, while having a very low impact to our environment.

Depopulation.

Rural areas like ours in Portugal have lost an estimated 50% of their population in the past 30 years. As the mountain population in the Serra do Caldeirão decreases and more young people go to live in our large Portuguese cities, it is important to find innovative ways to attract more people to these areas. We believe that initiatives like ours have the power to create economic and social change while breathing life back into the Serra.
